Inside the vision of the inner eye,
I see the sight of the clear blue sky,
The lush green fields and the lovely trees,
Away, away from Gods own land,
With memories that stand the tides of time,
With feelings that sing in joy, many a chime.
The chilly breeze that caresses the skin,
Awakens the soul from deep within
And though away from that enchanted land
With no sufficient physical remembrance,
The breeze still flows in my hearts deepest ember,
With a scent so sweet, no sense can remember.
A fervent feeling of divinity does dwell
In every living tree, in itself a gospel
That charms the garments of the Kerala damsel.
A world within herself, in beauty and grace
Whose finesse is more than what words can say,
With smiles that seem, of a celestial Fay.
With oceans outside, its waters inside
One feels the ocean, with nowhere to hide.
The water seems murky, its taste salty,
Yet within lies a history, an ocean itself.
And every thought on every lush green horizon,
Reminds the mind of another Amazon.
The blossoming flowers of the cardamom hills
Engulfs the heart with spicy chills.
The fragrance of the blooming seeds of coffee,
And the tender scent of teas tender leaves,
Mystifies the mind, even though far away.
Fantasies the soul, through Nature's own way.
My closed eyelids see only one sight,
My dreams do illumine with that only light,
For a special relation entwines me with that land,
With intense affection, that few only can apprehend.
And the more I think of the land or its shore,
My thoughts do outpour and my soul does soar.
